About The Author

My name is Reshma Stanislavose, I am a Linux System Administrator and IT Security Researcher. I frequently blog about the solutions to Linux problems and IT Security related topics. This blog is for everyone who is interested in the world of software in general, but in Open Source software in particular. Here I put down my experience with different versions of Linux (and some other) Operating Systems, and applications written to be used in it.

There are plenty of  sysadmins out there, with varying degrees of experience, and varying methods and opinions. I do not claim to be an expert on the subject, I’m just trying to write up what I know. Feedbacks and suggestions are welcome.

Disclaimers

  • Just to reiterate: I do not claim to be the leading expert on the subject, I’m just trying to write up what I know.
  • There are usually a minimum of three different ways to do a certain thing or solve a different problems. Every time I work next to another sysadmin I learn stuff from them, and at least a few times they’ve learned things from me. Nothing anyone writes about how to do stuff is gospel.
  •  In no way I will be responsible for the damage that you make following my instructions without understanding them. I follow "You Break you fix" policy.
  • Any mistakes found, I am open to suggestions
